I have always loved photography since I was a young boy learning about cameras from my father. While his pictures were family snaps or war scenes from wherever he was stationed, mine are a bit more eclectic. Looking through his hundreds of slides you get the sense of color and light that make a photograph interesting. He was content with posed shots of family or family events but was never afraid to pull out his camera to document scenes as they happened most notably in Vietnam. For me, this is a reawakening of a set-aside way to express myself. Nowadays I always travel with a camera and I am not afraid to park the car and scramble about for a picture. I look for the abandoned building, the last rose on the bush, or how light plays with familiar objects.
